UGC Takedown Request
Last Updated: 2026-08-26
ChargeHive EV Social Club hosts user-generated content (UGC) — posts, videos, Minds, comments, community room posts and profiles created by our members. This page explains how to ask us to remove content, what we need from you, and how quickly we act.
Lotus Scientific Solutions operates the service as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We do not pre-screen every post, but we act on valid complaints within the timelines set out below.
1. Who can request a takedown
Anyone. You do not need a ChargeHive account. Requests are accepted from the person affected, an authorised representative or agent, a rights holder, a parent or guardian, and from courts and government agencies.
2. Grounds we act on
- Intellectual property — content that copies your copyrighted work, or uses your trademark without permission.
- Impersonation — an account or post pretending to be you, your business, or someone who does not exist.
- Privacy — your personal information published without consent, including phone numbers, addresses, identity documents and vehicle registration details.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery — nudity, partial nudity, or a sexual act published without the consent of the person shown.
- Defamation — false statements of fact that damage your reputation.
- Harassment — targeted abuse, threats, or coordinated pile-ons.
- Unlawful content — anything otherwise prohibited by Indian law or by our Terms and Conditions.
- Your own content — you posted it and want it removed. You can also delete it yourself in the app.
3. What to include
An actionable request tells us four things:
- What — a link, username, or enough of a description that we can identify the exact content. A screenshot helps; a vague reference does not.
- Why — which ground above applies, and how.
- Who — your name, your relationship to the content, and a working email address we can reply to.
- Authority — for intellectual property claims, a statement that you own the right or are authorised to act for the owner.
Requests that do not identify specific content cannot be acted on and will be closed with an explanation.
4. How quickly we act
- Acknowledgement — 24 hours. You are given a reference number the moment you submit, and a reply confirming we have the request within 24 hours. Quote the reference in anything you send us about it.
- Intimate imagery and impersonation — 24 hours. Content depicting nudity, a sexual act, or impersonation is removed within 24 hours of a valid complaint, as required by Rule 3(2)(b).
- Court and government orders — 36 hours. We act on a valid order within 36 hours of receiving it.
- Everything else — 15 days. Other grievances are resolved within 15 days of receipt.
5. What happens to the content
While a request is under review, the content may be hidden from the community. It stays visible to its author, with a notice explaining that it is under review. If we uphold the request the content is removed permanently; if we reject it, the content is restored and you are told why.
Repeat violations lead to account termination. Because membership is invite-only, a terminated member is also removed from our approved-member directory and cannot register again.
6. If your content was removed
We notify the author when their content is hidden or removed. If you believe your content was removed in error, reply to that notification or write to our Grievance Officer at the address below with the reference number. We will re-review and restore the content if the original decision was wrong.
7. Misuse
Submitting a knowingly false takedown request is a misuse of this process. We record the submitter of every request, and may reject future requests from a source that repeatedly files bad-faith claims. Material misrepresentation may also expose you to liability under applicable law.
8. Grievance Officer
In accordance with Rule 3(2) of the IT Rules 2021, the following contact handles complaints about content on ChargeHive EV Social Club.
